We may have had a snow delay but even Mother Nature couldn’t keep NSWIB from putting on a fabulous event at the Hawthorne Hotel and promoting how to be the best YOU both personally and professionally! Our 2018 North Shore Women in Business Symposium was a HUGE success and we owe it all to our impressive panelists Fran Dichner, Liz Moulton and Karen Nascembeni for sharing the importance of leadership, volunteerism and doing what you love! Now Spring has sprung as we are celebrating with a fantastic event with a view and dynamic Key Note Speaker to get everyone out of hibernation!
Join us on April 19th at Cruiseport Gloucester (6 Rowe Square, Gloucester, MA 01930) at 5:30 p.m. to take in the beautiful view at the Northshore’s premier waterfront venue. From the chandeliers to the classic New England lighthouse foyer, vaulted ceilings and award-winning cuisine it is a breathtaking venue! (www.cruiseportgloucester.com) And we are so fortunate to have Sheree Zizik, Owner and Founder of the Beauport Hospitality Group as our Key Note Speaker of the evening to share her experience and passion as an entrepreneur for tackling big projects and making a difference in Gloucester and the North Shore! Sheree is an accomplished and well-respected business owner who has devoted her entire career to hospitality and food management. She received a degree in Business from Merrimack College and her Culinary Arts degree from Newbury College. Sheree worked for the Marriott Corporation from 1978 to 1998, ultimately serving as Vice President of Quality Control in their New York headquarters. In 1981, she became the first woman to serve as a General Manager of a Marriott property worldwide. Sheree represented Marriott in many countries and was a turnaround specialist for properties in need of management consulting.
In addition to Cruiseport Gloucester and Seaport Grille the gorgeous Beauport Hotel Gloucester is another of Sheree’s visions come to life! Most recently, as a founding Board Member of GMGI (Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute), Sheree is working in collaboration with fishermen, scientists and the environmental agencies to create a world-class facility dedicated to the signature marine sciences of the region and revitalize Gloucester’s waterfront with ocean-centered enterprises.
Sheree has always been a thought leader and often speaks at industry and regional business conferences and events. She is candid and quick to share her expertise with audiences big and small. She is a role model to other aspiring entrepreneurs who see her business model as one to emulate. Sheree is continually looking for opportunities to help organizations that promote positive change and who better the lives of those who live and work in the region. She is extremely active in a number of civic and charitable groups and is particularly generous – with both her time and resources - to the Cape Ann community. Sheree currently sits on the Board of Addison Gilbert Hospital and North Shore Chamber of Commerce.
The cost of this event is $25 for Members and $35 for Non-Members. The Registration fee includes heavy hors d’ oeuvres and cash bar will be available.
Can’t make it this month? There is always May! Mark your calendars and get those toolbelts ready and join NSWIB and Habitat for Humanity in Hamilton on Saturday, May 5th as we give back to the local community as a TEAM. What better way to start off the summer than helping to build a home for someone else! More details to follow!
